Taylor McDaniels, the philanthropy chair for Alpha Phi, said all proce from the coffee, hot chocolate and donut sale went directly to the Alpha Phi fund—a fund dedicated mainly to women’s heart health.
“I really think that this really shows that women’s heart health affects each and every one of us in some way,” Moorman said. “I just feel like donating blood is a really helpful way to kind of give back not just in our the sorority but our campus as a whole.”
Several students, including pre-pharmacy freshman Cedric Amaniapong, came out to participate in the blood drive.
“I came out to donate because there’s a lot of people out there that need blood in general and I felt the need the to help and donate,” Amaniapong said while preparing to give blood.
Amanipong added that helping others in need is something that’s “important in life.”
