Cleveland women’s virtual networking event to address job, small business and needs concerns

Cleveland, Ohio – One of the few bright spots of recent times has been seeing communities come together to help one another – even if it can’t be done in person.

Cleveland’s The Women’s Networking Group is one such group.

Founded in 2015, the Facebook group now has more than 20,000 members. It’s a private group and open to all women who request membership.

On Wednesday, the group will host a timely virtual town square for any interested women at noon. The event will help women identify and share resources, address economic insecurity and learn from others.

“The Women’s Networking Group-Cleveland brings 20,000 greater Cleveland women together, and these past weeks we have seen so many women seeking advice as they try to navigate new economic challenges,” says Carrie Carpenter, group founder and Senior Vice President, Regional Manager of Corporate Affairs for The Huntington National Bank.

Women need help with basic ne, like hunger programs, to help with their small businesses, to temporary jobs, so we’re bringing speakers together in a virtual forum.

We’re trying this model now to help communicate what resources are available to women.”

Carpenter will be joined in the discussion by Tiffany Scruggs of the Greater Cleveland Foodbank, Nicole Liatos of the Women’s Business Center of ECDI, Kathleen Colan, Founder of KC Media Partners and other experts who will provide important information about unemployment insurance and other topics.

The event is open to all women who are looking for a place to connect. Join the event via Zoom with Meeting ID 514 710 839.
