On Episode Four of Love in the Countryside, 24-year-old vet, George, will begin his hunt for love and someone to join him in his rural home setting of Powys, Wales.

Why did you want to go on Love in the Countryside?

“I signed up to be on the show because I thought it would be good fun and a great experience.

I’ve been single for a while now and both my job and where I live don’t make dating all that easy, so I had nothing to lose.”

Do you find your happy ending on the show?

“I can’t give too much away but, as cliche as it sounds, I learn a lot.

“This is a hard one to answer. My confidence in dating has grown a lot and now I feel like I have a fair amount to offer a potential girlfriend.

I’ve also learnt that where I live and what I do are only part of the reason why I haven’t had a relationship for a while. I realised that my lack of confidence and my worry of potentially having to let someone down, should it not feel right, has held me back.

What do you love about living in the countryside?

“What’s not to love? The peace and quiet, no traffic (apart from the odd sheep on the road), picturesque scenery, and the sense of community, to name a few.”

Is living in a city something you’d ever see as part of your future if it made meeting someone easier?

“I like visiting cities to meet up with friends and go on the occasional night out but I can honestly never see myself not living in the countryside.

It would be lovely to think that the person I end up with would feel the same way about rural life and one day we could buy a small holding with a couple of horses, some goats and some chickens.”

Love in the Countryside is on BBC Two on Tuesday at 9pm.
