We know, we know — Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have stated they definitely do not plan on being a couple even though their onstage and onscreen body chemistry is pure insanity and they’ve both broken up with their significant others. Of course, that definitely hasn’t stopped their fans (both ardent and casual) from wishing these stars will get together.
If they did actually give in and just hook up, they’d at least be in good company with these stars who have fallen in love on a movie set or in entertainment circles while technically attached to someone else:
Spelling and McDermott were married to other people when they met on the set of the 2005 Lifetime movie Mind Over Murder. 14 years, five kids, and a handful of reality shows later, they’re still married.
“As a mom of 5 I don’t know life without my kiddos,” she wrote in an Instagram post on their anniversary last year. “But, sometimes it’s important to take time and remember the whole reason those 5 little blessings are in our lives… and that is a mad love that started with my soulmate @imdeanmcdermott.”
Lifetime movie sets are steamy, apparently! Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes worked together as a fictional couple on the 2009 film Northern Lights for the network, while Cibrian was married to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville and LeAnn was married to Dean Sheremet. They were engaged in 2010 and are still going strong.
They later figured out it wasn’t the first time they had met.
“Well we don’t remember meeting each other,” Rimes told Entertainment Tonight. “No, but there is a photo of it, clearly, and it is odd. We both were like, ‘Wait, what?’ I think he was 23, I was 14 at the time, and he was doing Young and the Restless. He found that right after we had worked together. He was just digging through some photos in his garage and found it.”
Julia Roberts met cinematographer Danny Moder when he worked as a cameraman on her 2000 film The Mexican. He was married and she was dating actor Benjamin Bratt at the time, but they’re now happily married to each other.
“When I think about what makes my life my life, and makes sense and just shine inside of me, it’s him. Everything has come from that for me,” she told PEOPLE.
Vince, a retired tennis pro (and son of the late actor Dick Van Patten), met Eileen on the set of her soap opera The Young and the Restless while married to others. They’ve been married since 2003, and viewers got to see how loving and solid they are when Eileen appeared on RHOBH.
“Vince is an exceptional family man,” Eileen told The Daily Dish. “He’s a fantastic father. Very hands-on. Extremely hands-on dad. He’s an all-around great person. I’m really lucky.”
Music stars Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani met as judges on The Voice in 2014, announced their divorces from Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale, respectively, in 2015, and were out as a couple by the end of the year. Now, it’s hard to remember a time when they weren’t together.
“It’s not something that anybody could have seen coming, besides God, I guess,” Shelton told ET. “It doesn’t look like it would make sense, you know? But all I can tell you is, it does. It just makes the most perfect sense for us and where we’re at in our lives. I tell people all the time, ‘Gwen saved my life last year.’ She did, and I think she would probably tell you something similar about me.”
This power couple were both attached to other people when they first met in 2010 while filming Green Lantern (Lively was dating Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley and Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson). They later went on an infamous double date together, only with other people! Now, they’re married with two daughters and a third child on the way.
“About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date – [Blake] was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl – and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across,” he told Entertainment Weekly on SiriusXM. “We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends.”
“I’ve never been excited by anything more in my life — and ready,” she said of being a wife and mom.
