Opening Night for NWA Fall Fashion Week
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Thursday night was opening night for the second annual Northwest Arkansas Fall Fashion Week, and it all kicked off with the student designer showcase.
The showcase brought student designers from Arkansas Fashion School and University of Arkansas to show off their collections on the runway.
Fashion students will handle hair and make up, giving them hands-on experience behind-the-scenes.
“I’m just excited about sharing my talent because for awhile I’ve just been afraid to step out there, put myself out there for people to critique me. It’s very important to me every opportunity that I get to showcase my talent,” student designer Jazmine Gates said.
Bentonville native and University of Arkansas alum Alyssa Graves will also be at NWAFW. She presented her designs at NWA Fashion Week in 2017, and that led to an invitation to the big apple for New York Fashion Week.
Graves says she will be presenting her designs from her recent trip this weekend.
Ticket sales from this event help fund the development and production of opportunities for creative producers in fashion and design in Northwest Arkansas.
On Friday and Saturday new designer talent will be showing their collections on the runway.
