‘The Bachelorette’: Hannah Brown is the new leading lady

And the new “Bachelorette” is … Hannah Brown.

Roll Tide.

The Alabama native, who recently completed her run on Season 23 of “The Bachelor” will get to hand out the roses as the next leading lady of ABC’s dating franchise.

The announcement was made on Tuesday’s “After the Final Rose” special, which served as the season finale of Colton Underwood’s “Bachelor” season.

“I feel all the emotions but honestly, I’m just really grateful for the opportunity,” said Brown, who was known as Hannah B. (Or “Beast”) during her time on “The Bachelor.” “For a minute there, it was touch-and-go from my experience. But in my wildest dreams, (I hoped for this).”

Host Chris Harrison then introduced five of the men who’ll be vying for her heart.

Brown, 24, who was crowned Miss Alabama USA in 2018, was one of 30 women who attempted to win Underwood’s affections earlier this year. She wound up finishing in fifth place after she told Colton she was falling in love with him. Colton, however, just wasn’t feeling it.

The choice was somewhat surprising as many fans had rallied behind Tayshia and/or Hannah H., the two would-be finalists spurned by Colton, who chose to pursue Cassie. Another prime contender seemed to be Caelynn. Brown is the first-ever “Bachelorette” to finish outside the Top 4 on “The Bachelor.”

“The Bachelorette” goes into production this week and is set to premiere May 13.
